Mauricio Pochettino says it’s“nearly impossible“ that Christian Eriksen will depart Tottenham ahead of the transfer window shuts in Europe on Monday.
The midfielder, who has been linked with Real Madrid, started his second match of the season at Arsenal and scored in a 2-2 draw.
„His head was so obvious he wished to perform,“ explained Pochettino.
„It’s extremely hard for something to happen [with a move ], that’s the reason why it was clear.“
When he doesn’t agree that an extension to his current deal, which expires in the season’s close midfielder Eriksen could depart Tottenham to a free transfer next summer.

But the Argentine was upbeat on Sunday, stating:“I am optimistic and happy to work together with the squad and try to fight for large things for the club.
„What happened in the past occurred before and you cannot mend it. It’s about drawing on a strong line . It’s important to move on and learn from the past.“
Arsenal boss Unai Emery had been happy with his side’s fightback to claim some point, even though he sensed that their failure to“play their mind“ cost them a win.
„This was an incredible game,“ Emery told BBC Sport. „We are proud of our job and our fans. The outcome is not the very best for us.
„The key was that the very first aim to give us confidence and provide us more opportunities in the second half. We deserved it. We did lots of things. We made some mistakes and they have great players.
„Before their first aim we were playing nicely. Occasionally our heart is more strong than our mind.“
