Daniil Medvedev attained his first Grand Slam final with a stressed US Open semi-final success over Grigor Dimitrov.
Russian fifth seed Medvedev, 23, edged the significant points to win 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 6-3 on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The set at Flushing Meadows faded in the third from the opening two places until Bulgarian Dimitrov.
Medvedev will face Italian seed Matteo Berrettini or second seed Rafael Nadal .
As he chases a title heavy favourite Nadal, 33, requires a Grand Slam semi-finalist, on 23-year-old Berrettini, afterwards on Friday.
