Katie Taylor can grow to be a two-weight world winner when she struggles Christina Linardatou for the WBO super-lightweight belt live on Sky Sports.
The Irish star was crowned as the undisputed lightweight winner after a hard-fought triumph over Delfine Persoon at June and currently aims a world title in a higher weight category at Manchester Arena, together with Anthony Crolla’s farewell battle and Joshua Buatsi’s WBA light-heavyweight title eliminator against Blake Caparello.
Taylor is relishing her WBO title clash and fully intends to cement her status as the world’s finest female boxer in the future.
„I had a number of my first pro struggles at the Manchester Arena and also to come back in November and headline a card there a couple of years on is awesome,“ said Taylor.
„It is played host to some enormous nights in boxing background so I am honoured to be part of that tradition.
„It’s a new challenge in a brand new weight and something I am very excited about. I feel like I have much left to reach in the sport and getting a world champion is one of those aims.
„There are still numerous enormous battles out there for me like the Amanda Serrano struggle, a rematch with Delfine Persoon along with a fight with Cecilia Br??khus however, the first objective is November 2 and winning yet another domain.
„I don’t have some issues making lightweight so that I think I can move between the two weights. I want to drive myself and Christina is an excellent world champion, so it’ll be a huge test for me personally.“
However, Linardatou, together with 12 wins and just one loss, believes she could inflict a crushing first professional defeat Taylor.
„I plan on leaving England with my name,“ she said. „If I need to knock Katie Taylor outside in order to retain the title, that is what I’ll do.“
Mancunian Crolla contributes to the scene of his biggest victory, a stoppage win over Darleys Perez to earn the WBA lightweight belt at November 2015, after falling short against unified winner Vasiliy Lomachenko this year along with also the 32-year-old will have one final struggle.
Buatsi recently ceased Ryan Ford in seven rounds but should be given a sterner struggle against Australian Caparello, a former world title challenger, who’s shared the ring with Andre Dirrell and Sergey Kovalev.
